In this paper, a qualitative study aimed at studying gender differences in the narratives of a "good family" in modern society was conducted. The main difference in male and female narratives is different understandings of emotional satisfaction with family relationships. For women, a good family is impossible without motherhood, and for a man, spiritual comfort and a positive emotional state are important. Men see themselves as "providers" and they need to have their contribution and care for the family be valued. Women concentrate on commonality and compatibility in interaction with the spouse, they need the involvement of the man in domestic and educational issues, as well as emotional involvement of the spouse - to listen, support, participate in decision-making. This study makes it possible to expand knowledge about the characteristics of interaction in marriage among modern men and women in the formation of harmonious relationships in a "good family".
