Abstract: Obvious, that the mutual sanctions of the EU and Russia affected on the economy of all participants in this process. In view of these events, the question of what is happening to foreign companies operating at the Russian market within the dramatically changed political and economic conditions remains unexplored. The aim of this dissertation is to identify strategies for the interaction of foreign business with Russian authorities on the example of German companies in the North-West Federal District under the new political conditions after the introduction of a sanctions regime. This aim is revealed by solving the following problems: analysis of theories describing the practices of interaction between foreign business and government; characterization of the conditions and mechanisms for the development of foreign business in Russia before and after sanctions; Identifying the degree of interaction of authorities with German business before and after sanctions. The following methods were used in the work: analysis of the Legislation and normative legal acts of the European Union, Germany and the Russian Federation, as well as the interview method and the method of questioning. The main results of the work were the conclusions that the factor of the size of business and investments influences on the relations of the authorities with business. In this paper, we present data of these interaction models. It also managed to systematize new practices of business development and maintenance used by foreign companies after the introduction of sanctions in Russia.
