This paper examines the situation on the Russian IT labor market and builds supply and demand forecast of labor force in the current demographic and economic conditions until 2030. It was necessary to answer the following questions: will the issuance of young IT specialists ensure a changing demand from the employer, and what are the reasons for the staff deficit/surplus. When building the forecast, current trends in the labor market, social and economic forecasts, changes in education, migration activity of specialists, as well as the probability of their employment were taken into account. In this article, the hypothesis was confirmed that there is a positive dynamic of both demand and supply in the IT labor market, as well as the presence of a deficit in the forecast period. The author suggests possible ways of liquidating the future deficit on the labor market. The option of solving problems with the help of migration flows was excluded after analyzing the world experience and migration flows to Russia. At the same time, the reorganization of the higher education system in the field of IT, as well as the reorganization of the professional retraining courses, is inevitable. Companies working in the field of IT cannot do without attraction of highly qualified specialists, creation of their own training centers within the company and development of the personnel reserve.
