In the presented work, we studied oriental motifs in the book of poems "Orientalia" by a little-known poet of the silver age Marietta Shahinian. Analyzing the book of poems as a "great form", we noted its philosophical component. The theme of time and the soul, marked in the epigraph and in the first poem, set the general concept of the whole book. Analysis of oriental motifs of poems made it possible to conclude that it is meaningful for Shahinian through the oriental image tell us about herself and the modern woman. The poetess's desire to write not on behalf of an Armenian woman, but wider - on behalf of oriental woman, perhaps explaining her desire to "overcome" the conflict that arose at the beginning of the century between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
