Effectiveness of the EU Environmental Policy Tax Instruments

Over the last decades, natural resource management has received widespread attention. An increasing number of European and national applications on environmental issue has led to the creation of the EU Environmental Policy. However, little is known about the actual performance of the Environmental Policy economic instruments. Consequently, the majority of academics measured its implementation without excluding external influence of other policies. Thereby, using regression analysis we will evaluate the performance of taxation as an economic tool of the EU Environmental Policy and will assess its overall efficiency. Futhermore, we will analyze potential distributional impacts of environmental taxes and the EU Environmental Tax Reform.
