Design and Analysis of a Multi-Factor Decision Model Based on Linguistic Information

This research is dedicated to the development and analysis of a multi-factor decision model based on linguistic information. This problem is extremely actual due to presence of numerous problems, which have different stakeholders, alternative decisions, criteria. The special emphasis is drawn to the multi-factor analysis. In particular, it was proposed to use 8 abstraction levels described by G. Van Gigch. In this paper, there is a detailed analysis of this hierarchy and intentions of each abstraction level, also possible criteria for analysis are described. The proposed methodology approbation is performed on the case study of rice industry in one Indian state. Also, software development process was aligned in accordance to industrial standards of enterprise development and all the details are described. The proposed model is analyzed and improvements are suggested. Finally, conclusions on the applicability of the proposed approach are made.
