Financial Control in the Holding Business Structure

In modern conditions significant part of world economic companies organized in holdings format. According to statistics of 2015, their role in the creation of value added is estimated at 7.492 trillion dollars with a global GDP of 74.284 trillion dollars. Moreover, it is essential to say, that distributed business structures provide employment for the population: according to the data of 2015 in enterprises of holding groups, including transnational ones, there were employed more than 70.726 million people. The volume of providing the economy with goods and services is estimated at more than 35 trillion dollars. The effective functioning of enterprises with distributed business structures is largely determined by a wide range of use of synergies between the group's enterprises, including in the area of financial management and the process of financial control. In this paper, a study was made of the mechanisms of financial control in enterprises with distributed business structures, and ways of optimizing the methods of attracting financial resources by subsidiaries of holding groups were suggested. The author analyzed the system of financial control in the Gazprom Group of Companies, examined the specifics of interaction between three different responsibility centers of the group enterprises, described the mechanisms of internal loans between enterprises (alternative to traditional bank financing). Based on the results of the analysis, recommendations were proposed to improve the efficiency of the financial control system and the functioning of Gazprom Group of Companies as a whole.
