The Construction of the Male and the Masculine in the Russian Version of Esquire Magazine

This work is devoted to the analysis of the Male and the Masculine in the Russian version of Esquire magazine. The focus is on interviews in the section "Wardrobe", where famous men talk about their wardrobe and style of consumption. In this work it was shown that the construction and representation of hegemonic masculinity occurs in glossy magazines through the presentation of normative patterns of masculinity that are genuine for various spheres of social life. In the course of this work, we traced the transformation of glossy journalism, revealed the characteristic features of glossy publications for the male audience and linked it to the problem of the «Masculine», revealed images of successful masculinity that are broadcast in the pages of the Esquire magazine.
