Keywords Transportation process, outsourcing, transport company, distribution network, "make or buy". One of the important factors of increasing the competitiveness and efficiency of the logistics activity in a down economy is the efficiency of the transportation process as a way to reduce costs. The emergence of logistics providers allows companies to focus on developing their own business, while outsourcing those functions, which do not require focused attention or investments of significant financial resources. The aim of the paper is to develop measures for increasing efficiency of company operational activities by outsourcing transportation process. In this paper following tasks are solved: to analyze company's operations; to show up problems related to transportation process; to characterize and to analyze main frameworks approaches for the improvement of the transportation process. As a result, frameworks were selected and suggestions about elimination of defects in transportation process were developed. Also, this paper presents the necessary changes that should be performed over the organizational structure of the company. The economic feasibility of the proposed changes was assessed and proved with DuPont model (increase in Return on Net Worth by 20,6 percentage points). 5.
