Application of Oligopolistic Competition in Russia

The given work bears in itself the analysis of the Russian market of airlines, in particular, the market of passengers air transportations. The main objective was to identify the presence or absence of dependence of airfares from market concentration, own market share and a number of other market and individual variables. The analysis covers the data of the largest Russian airlines for the period from 2008 to 2015. During the work, the fixed and random effects GLS method with robust errors was used. For the selection of a model with fixed or random effects, the Hausman test was used. The results of the work are very similar with results obtained by the authors of scientific articles of recent years. Results of estimation have some error, due to absense of some needed data, consequently, the omission or substitution of some, probably significant, indicators The results of the work can be used in predicting of the effects of concentration level and other variables change on the average level of airfares.
