This paper attempts to investigate the way Hemingway’s image of the author in the aggregate with his novels became a vital role model for a Soviet person. Examination of criticism enables to grasp the perception of the writer tightly and to formulate a hypothesis about his impact on the USSR readership for a period from 1930 to 1970s’.
