Graduation Thesis: Pedagogical Game Practices as an Resource for Improving (Opportunity to Improve) the Level of Security of Educational Organizations Annotation In this research paper we discuss how to find the most effective ways to ensure the safety and security of an educational institution. As an innovative method of solving this problem and a resource of an educational institution to ensure its safety and security we propose to use specialized gaming practices of working with children. The study of teenagers was conducted in the Artek International Children's Center during 7 camp sessions from May to October, 2017. The target group included children aged 10-17 from 62 regions of the Russian Federation. By means of specialized gaming practices our students entered into conditions simulating dangerous situations for launching a mechanism of forming their own safety culture. During the experiment teenagers expressed their attitude to the health and safety course and to the knowledge gained there. At the same time we evaluated their academic knowledge and the level of motivation using the Luskanova test, the degree of readiness for risk in accordance with the Schubert test and the overall educational outcome. The obtained data showed a low level of trust in the health and safety course and insufficient functional literacy of teenagers. In a real life this can lead to an excessively high self-assessment and misunderstanding of the rules of personal and public safety and security. Based on the results of the experiment we propose to use a modern method of motivationally oriented development of the educational process to cultivate a culture of safety in children. We also offer to use gaming practices to achieve a desired result in formation of foundations of personality of a safe type. Key words: children, safety and security of educational institution, educational environment, theme gaming practices, culture of life safety.
