The Ideology and Realities of the Soviet Society in the Story-tale " Starik Hottabych" by L. I. Lagin

The purpose of this study is to reveal the influence of political and ideological changes in the Soviet society of the 30s-60s on children's literature, using the example of two editions of the story-tale «Starik Hottabych» by L. Lagin. The implementation of this goal required the solution of the following tasks: - to consider the effect of the mechanisms of the Soviet government on children's literature in general and the works of L.I. Lagina in particular, allowing the party-state apparatus to use children's literature as an instrument of ideological education; - To answer the question why L.I. Lagin addresses in his literary activity to the genre - story-telling; - comparing two versions of the story-tale 1940 and 1955 edition, highlight the changes that occurred in the country and in the world, which affected the text of the work; As a result of the study, a system has been revealed that contributes to the formation of a mass consciousness of the children of the new Soviet society through children's literature, the attitude of the Soviet man to other countries, to Soviet ideals and values is examined. The material on the topic of the study can be recommended to use in the planning of lessons, extracurricular and educational activities of history teachers, social science and literature.
