Fables by I.A.Krylov in School Antologies

Objective: to investigate the choice of I. A. Krylov’s fables at different stages of school reading at different periods of teaching literature / literature in gymnasiums and schools. The subject of the study is I. A. Krylov’s heritage. To achieve the goal, the following tasks were set: • consider the features of this kind of collection of works as an anthology; • consider the features of the writer's works, their significance in public life, refracted through the educational process and child perception, in different epochs. The first chapter is devoted to the development stages of children's literature: from the need for the emergence of a new academic form - the Russian reader to the establishment of an anthology as a school literary canon. Chapter II reveals the role of the fable in the work of I. A. Krylov and Krylov's fables in the formation at various periods of teaching literature in gymnasiums and schools, from the 30s of the XIX century to today, and also analyzes why the reader is included in the textbook those or other fables. In this chapter we are talking about the popularity of Krylov’s fables from readers of all generations of different eras due to the simplicity of the plot and language, imagery and dynamism, emphasizing the acute criticism of vices in fables. Indicates the educational significance of fables for the children's audience. As a result of the research, a conclusion was reached: the secret of fables in their nationality. The I. A. Krylov’s works became an integral part in the upbringing of the younger generation, a measure of moral influence and age-old wisdom, so the fables by Ivan Andreevich Krylov became an obligatory structural element of school textbooks
