Visual research considers the statements of contemporary artists on the subject of love. The aim of the research is to collect as many works on love as possible and to track some regularities. I considered works devoted mainly to romantic love and came to the conclusion that in most of them reflect the stages of romantic relationships. I singled out five stages that a person encounters in a state of love: encounter, love, union, routine / love, parting / absolute love. The last stage is divided into two equal parts going in parallel. The research task was to classify works devoted to the theme of love and reveal patterns. In the course of the research, I found out what forms of artistic expressiveness (installation, painting, performance, etc.) are characteristic of the above stages of relations. The study resulted in conclusions about the main trends in works of art dedicated to love. Modern artists reflect on the topic of love, mainly using their own successful or not successful love experience. A distinctive feature of artistic statements about the love of the late 20th century is that, departing from the experience of predecessors, contemporary artists do not represent a concrete or abstract image of lovers. They create spaces and objects in which the viewer is immersed, awakens empathy and transmits a feeling of love. An important aspect of talking about love is that the expression of love feelings was within the framework of the language of love codes. The modern idea of love is placed in the forms of certain words, characteristic symbols and modes of expression. Thus, some modern artists make fun of these love clichés, others try to overcome them and bypass them, showing love in a natural, not glossy manifestation, others - deliberately use these codes, elevating them to the absolute. A feature of modern statements about love is the sincerity of artists.
