Indie Video Games Aesthetics as an Instrument of Audience Engagement and Retention

The purpose of this study is to identify and explain the methods of audience attraction and retention by independent video games. The key statement of the study is that indie video games aesthetics closely refer to the aspects of video games that are shared with other art forms, thus certain aesthetic choices play a crucial role in the success of low-budget games, which allows them to compete with high-budget games on the market. The study consists of three parts, divided into chapters, as well as an introduction, conclusion and a list of literature.
