Since 1980s knowledge has played an increasingly important role in the service sector. Knowledge is intensively used in the service sector, it is usually information, telecommunications, financial, insurance services and business services. The concept of high-tech services or knowledge-intensive business services (KIBS) is distinguished from other industries, playing a role in economic growth and development. Recently, China attaches great importance to KIBS. However, knowledge-intensive services in the PRC is still too weak to effectively play its role as a factor of its economic development. After a series of reforms, China's economic transformation faces structural imbalances and other problems. Therefore, China needs to promote KIBS to address these problems and achieve sustainable development in China. The PRC strives to develop the country's technological and innovative potential, the Chinese government pays special attention to attracting investments to the development of technologies, innovations, and R&D. This paper examines the effect of optimizing the structure of industries and how China's expansion into the market of high-tech services affects the increase in the share of PRC in global value chains.
