The present master’s thesis shed light on the internationalization strategies of Chinese and Russian commercial banks during the global economic crisis. We take Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and VTB as examples to compare the internationalization strategies of commercial banks from China and Russia, which are both emerging market economies, during the global economic crisis.
