It goes without saying that no constitutional state and no democratic values can exist without a voting procedure itself. Elections, whether on a local level with its regional characteristics, or at the level of the state where the people or the corresponding representatives choose leading posts in the government – all this is probably the main and distinctive feature of the legal structure of this or that country. In this respect, the electronic voting occupies a special place. In this work, the global ‘electrification’ or evolution of electoral system of many countries in the world is discussed. Firstly, I propose to consider the theoretical basis on which further analysis would be built. Thus, the first chapter is devoted to the legal regulation of e-voting. Secondly, it is important to consider the practice of the institution of electronic voting in the world. This means that it is necessary to show the most representative countries in terms of the applicability and prevalence of this type of voting. Finally, I consider the prospects for the development of electronic voting in the world to show a vision of how e-voting can become a kind of foundation for a new electoral system in this or that country. The central part of the work is based mostly on reports, articles and studies of specialists from different countries of the world, to which electronic voting is applicable. The practical nature of the work sets special conditions for considering the most significant examples from the field of electronic voting in the world.
