The Peculiarities of the Position of France towards Financial Integration in the EU (2010 - 2017)

The issue of integration has been widely discussed in the scientific community due to numerous successful integration processes of which the European Union is exemplary. Financial integration in the European Union, in particular, has been a subject of keen attention of many researchers. However, scholars have generally focused on the overall scheme of financial integration, while less attention was paid to the positions of member countries of the European Union towards financial integration and the states’ influence on financial integration. This study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the stance of France, one of the key member states of the European Union, on financial integration. By providing a thorough analysis of the French position towards financial integration in the European Union, the study will contribute to the existing knowledge on financial integration in the European Union, the factors which can influence it, and the possibilities of the EU member-states to influence it in accordance with their national interests.
