Comparative Analysis of the World Cities Emboding the Concept of Sustainable Development

The graduate qualification work is concerned with the issues related to the sustainable urban development. Special attention is paid to the relationship between economic growth and environment quality. Thoroughly described the modeling procedure for the verification of existence of the environmental Kuznets Curve for the period from 2005 to 2015 using the multiple regression. Obtained results show the impact of GDP and its structure on the amount of pollutants (carbon dioxide and emissions from stationary sources into the atmosphere). The final chapter gives the information on the main problems that have negative impact on the environment condition as well as policy measures which can improve the quality of the environment and so lead to the sustainable urban growth.
