The author of this work makes an attempt to study the implementation of the adversarial principle in Russian criminal procedure, relying on the history of its development and institutions that aim to promote this principle. In this connection, the author considers it necessary to turn to the investigation of the criminal process of the USA, the foundation of which is the adversarial principle . The American criminal trial is a model for constructing an adversarial model of criminal justice, some institutions of which can be borrowed and adopted by the Russian judicial system.
