The Connection between Chinese Tea Culture and Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism

Chinese tea culture reflects the philosophy of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Thus, the transformation of the tea ceremony tradition is closely connected with the development of Chinese religions. The present study aims to find the connection between the Chinese tea culture and Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism in order to analyse what influence these three philosophical traditions have had on Chinese culture. This study is aimed to make two primary contributions through the research. First, several papers on the philosophy of tea ceremony written in Chinese will be introduced into scientific use. Secondly, the main Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism concepts that have an influence on tea ceremony, are aimed to be defined and analyzed. In order to achieve the goals of this research, the following methods have been used: synthesis, comparative analysis, generalization. Key words: Chinese tea culture, tea ceremony
