The object of the research in this work are the main current data placement policies. The ultimate aim of this research is to create a simulation model of different strategies of placing the data in the cache. The paper reviews the subject area, as well as an analysis of existing solutions, on the basis of which requirements for the development object are formed. As a result of a detailed analysis of existing approaches to the simulation models development and the selection of the appropriate tools, a software implementation in C++ programming language was developed using the Qt framework, which is an application with a graphic user interface. The basic application flow diagram is described in this study. By interacting with the program, the user can simulate the process of accessing the data in the cache, accompanied by visual representation. The results obtained can be useful in the educational process as a tool for conducting laboratory work. The work contains 17 figures, 2 tables and 18 literature sources.
