Modern Trends of the Global Competitive Environment Transformation: Its Effects on the Position of Russian Exporters of Chemical Products in the Global Market

In recent years, there have beena further transformation of the world markets of chemical production. The increase in international trade, the innovative development of production and its digitalization, the tightening of environmental standards and a substantial increase in demand from developing countries can be seen as an unprecedented stage in the development of a global competitive environment. The paper discusses the theoretical concepts of influence of competitiveness on international trade and factors of increasing the competitiveness of companies in the chemical industry, the basic trends in the global markets of chemical products and the role of TNCs in the transformation of the competitive environment; analyzed the competitiveness of chemical production at different stages of technological development, and also studied the world practice of trade regulation in chemical products; analyzed the situation in the Russian chemical complex; an empirical assessment of the impact of emerging trends in the global chemical market on the competitiveness of Russian exporters, as well as the prospects for improving Russia's position in the global chemical market.
