The assessment of efficiency of companies with foreign direct investment is considered as an issue that resonates with all actors of private sector as well as the government due to the decreasing level of FDI into the Russian Federation because of the international sanctions against the country. This paper aims to evaluate the role of foreign capital in companies' performance by suggesting a new way of its assessment in order to become aware of possible threats, including the decreasing level of FDI, posed by the international sanctions against Russia. In order to achieve this goal we will use a quantitative data collection and test a correlation regression model that shows a connection between firms' productivity and foreign capital. This study will contribute to academic knowledge and provide evidence for existing theories that assert the strong correlation between FDI and companies' performance.
