The Impact of E-commerce on the Transformation of Business Relations in Chinese Society in 2000's

Electronic commerce (commonly referred to as e-commerce, ecommerce), an activity of buying or selling online, has seen tremendous growth within the two decades that the Chinese market has existed. Currently, China is the world’s biggest and fastest growing e-commerce player. This scientific paper aims to advance research on the latest e-commerce trends in China by collecting and documenting the most important trends from various reports. It also describes the transformation of business relations and certain Confucian concepts and the influence of EC on them. Alibaba, JD.com and other companies are mentioned as examples to illustrate advancements made in e-commerce. On top of that, this paper outlines the government’s involvement in e-commerce. Finally, conclusions regarding the main trends and the direction of e-commerce’s development are presented. Key words: e-commerce trends, mobile commerce, cross-border e-commerce, China, Alibaba.
