This dissertation researches the main practices and specifics of organization of two ideological campaings: two publicly celebrated anniversaries of Josef Stalin (his 50th and 70th birthdays in 1959 and 1979 correspondingly). They were accompanied by public celebrations and were widely covered in the press, where Stalin's persona was depicted in heroic and laudatory tones. This research aims to investigate how these celebrations were organized, what governmental bodies took part in the ideological campaign, and how Stalin's images were broadcasted to the society. This dissertation presents a novel and actual research and is based on unpublished archival sources.
