Evolution of Japan’s Party System in Post-War Period

The work is devoted to the evolution of the Japanese party system from the occupation period to 1993. During this time, the government was controlling singly by the Liberal Democratic Party. The main emphasis is on the analysis of historical material through a comprehensive study of the internal processes of the LDP functioning, as well as the impact of economic development on the political preferences of citizens. Considering the roots of the unpopularity of opposition parties in the context of the socio-economic situation in Japan. The work is aimed at understanding the rules of the functioning of the Japan party system that corresponds to the current agenda.
