Educational Programme: Economics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2018

The objective of the current research is to find out and estimate the impact of different social, economic and cultural factors on consumer behavior on the music market in the age of digital piracy. The importance is determined by the fact that there is a lack of scientific study of the drivers that nowadays make people pay for music and a shortage of previous research in the field for the Russian data. The current study contributes to systematization of the approaches to the study of digital piracy and of the factors that are associated with the consumer choice on the music market. The analysis of the data, gathered with the help of the survey conducted among the Russian students and the youth, revealed some behavioral patterns of the music consumers. It is anticipated that the results of the current study may contribute to the further research of digital piracy and consumer choice on the music market in Russia.
