The focus of this paper is on the description and analysis of the Vietnam War, more specifically it covers the mass media of such countries as USA, France, China, and USSR. It describes the transformation of the 20th-century information war. The research analyzes the means, goals and development of information warfare. This study investigates the possibility to control the masses through media, depending on those which have the opportunity to manage this information. The main goal is to analyze the certain tendency in the development of information wars. For this, a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the documents will be used. The work brings scientific researches and social and political essays, like books, magazine and newspaper articles, reports and orders. The research is also divided into two periods: World War I, World War II and Vietnam War. Proving the fact of the wide influence of information flows on public consciousness, it is necessary to show the use of these methods on historical examples. Thus the research is meant to find out how high the role of the information struggle and its tools is, and also to show the gradual development of the using methods throughout the twentieth century. Also, a list of French, Chinese, American and Soviet newspaper clippings about the Vietnam War were compiled. Further, the comparative and content analysis will be used in the research work. Based on these materials, an analysis will be made about the countries attitude to the war itself, the development of information warfare media, and the speed of information transfer. On the basis of this study, conclusions were made about the wide dissemination of hidden and open information wars. Also the rapid development of methods of information wars is worth noting. Formulating conclusions about the gradual shift of the classic type of war to informational, as the most effective.
