In this paper we studied the factors that affect the financial results of the metallurgical industry in the territory of the Russian Federation. Factors were selected, based on previous course work and analysis of existing empirical studies. The data were taken from the SPARK database between 2011 and 2016. Based on these data, the factors affecting the financial results of the companies were assessed. Two models were built where the return on assets (1 model) and the return on sales (2 model) were chosen as a dependent variable. Current liquidity, turnover of accounts payable and accounts receivable in days, inventory turnover in days, firm size, fixed assets ratio, financial leverage and price of iron ore were chosen as regressors. The results of the research partially confirmed the impact of regressors on the company's financial results.
