The animated sitcom ‘Rick and Morty’ can be considered as a way of reflection about modern society and its problems. ‘Rick and Morty’ series can be described as a sitcom which reinvents and parodies itself. The exterior nihilism, absurd and surreal humour, the escape from binary opposition mindset allows the creators of the animated comedy show to tell the story of the little family which can be extrapolated to individual and collective identity. Political imagination is a formation of collective identity. Considering the identity as a social phenomenon which is a matter of individual knowledge and cultural context which can be derived from the popular products of mass culture we’d like to analyse the ways of constructing national ideas and collective mindsets through the ‘Rick and Morty’ series.
