Based on the RLMS data of 2016. we conducted an attempt to develop a methodology for measuring social capital at the micro level (the level of the individual), we proposed the classification of social capital by components and typologization of people based on the configuration of these components of social capital. An empirical assessment of the economic returns from the social capital is also conducted. In this paper, several research hypotheses are tested, e.g. the possibility of constructing an integral index for measuring social capital, on the difference in economic returns in terms of the wage rate for different components (types) of social capital. The obtained results demonstrate the consistency of the social capital as component for the formation of individual well-being, although, in comparison with studies in other countries, the social capital in Russia does not that much significantly affect earnings, such as basic indicators of human capital (education and specific work experience).
