The Use of Cloud and Fog Computing in Regional Logistics

The development of the Internet of things, cloud and fog technologies is a promising direction as it affects the competitiveness and information development of logistics companies, since it is directly related to the improvement of the supply chain and logistics activities conducted within the company and the region, and therefore the study of this topic is of the current interest. The aim of this work is to study cloud and fog computing within the framework of regional logistics and logistics activities of the company. The subject of the study is the use of cloud and fog information technologies in the logistics. The object of the research is the logistics system of the Republic of Komi and, in particular, of the company Mondi Syktyvkar. In the framework of the thesis, the basic theoretical foundations of cloud and fog architectures applied in logistics were considered; the methods of logistic activity of the Republic of Komi and the company Mondi Syktyvkar were analyzed; the calculation of the effectiveness of the introduction of cloud and fog technologies to Mondi Syktyvkar was carried out. This work can potentially be used by companies intending to implement concepts based on cloud and fog technologies to the enterprise, as it contains practical recommendations for implementation.
