The problem of establishing separate waste collection has become urgent nowadays. The aim of the research is to identify factors that contribute to the establishing of separate waste collection in Russia among high school children and barriers that could appear during the implementation of separate waste collection and recycling in Russia. The binary choice regression and description analysis were used to determine the conditions that have the most significant influence on children’s inclusion in separate waste collection. The level of infrastructure, the level of people's awareness about the possibilities of separate waste collection in town, the involvement of relatives in separate waste collection were revealed as significant. High level of positive attitude towards separate waste collection and environmental concern were also determined among children. The research has both immediate practical implementations and options for further development.
