This research work is devoted to the consideration of the franchise from the point of view of project management. The project for creating a franchise includes two main stages: the development of a franchise package and the sale of a franchise accompanied by a franchisee. Using the IDEF0 methodology, the Stage-gate model and the project life cycle, a phased franchise development model was created. In the process of developing the model, a process approach to project life-cycle management was used. The developed model of the project to create a franchise is adapted for a retail store. The model is approved on the project of creating a franchise for the bookstore Uniqstore. During the implementation of the franchise project, recommendations were drawn up for small teams (5-7 people), who will develop a franchise for a retail store. Recommendations were identified during the analysis of the phased application of the model on the franchise development project of the bookstore Uniqstore. Keywords: project life-cycle management, process-functional project model, franchise development.
