Every day the complexity of information systems is growing, the market is overloaded with new technologies and innovative concepts. However, it would seem that the positive trends have the opposite side. Quickly scalable distributed systems make error correction extremely expensive. Moreover, thanks to the widespread use of object-oriented programming principles, the percentage of own code can reach up to 20% - inheriting the remaining code base from third-party developers. In light of this problem and the development of hypervisors - there was such an approach as "Virtual patching". If earlier vulnerabilities were closed at the perimeter level, in the middle of the OSI model – today the concept of Runtime Application Self-Protection, working directly in the protected application (level 7 of the OSI model) is actively developing. In this work, I have considered the possibilities of a new approach. Reviewed the feasibility change the already proven market solutions – Web Application Firewall. The influence of the implementation of the RASP in the concept of SDLC.
