Investigation of Thermal Processes in Laser Gyro Components

Student: Belyy Aleksey

Supervisor: Yury Nikolaevich Kofanov

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Infocommunication Technologies and Systems (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2018

At present, when designing and creating radio-electronic equipment, the problem of temperature loads is very urgent. This is due to the fact that during operation, the elements of the device can allocate a significant amount of thermal power, and if it exceeds the maximum permissible for these elements, then the number of failures increases significantly. The work includes the description of the thermal processes inside the laser gyroscope, the description of the subsystem ASONIKA-TM, in which the laser gyroscope printing unit and the practical part were simulated, including the description of the research object, the presentation of tasks and stages of thermal design and demonstration of the results of modeling thermal conditions of the printed node. The purpose of this work is to evaluate, as well as improve the reliability of the laser gyroscope. Calculations and measurements will be carried out on the laser gyro assembly in the subsystem ASONIKA-TM. It is planned to obtain the load factors of elements of the laser gyro printing unit, compare them with the maximum permissible taking into account the reserve, and suggest methods for improving its operation.

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

Summaries of all theses must be published and made freely available on the HSE website.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree. After a thesis is published on the HSE website, it obtains the status of an online publication.

Student theses are objects of copyright and their use is subject to limitations in accordance with the Russian Federation’s law on intellectual property.

In the event that a thesis is quoted or otherwise used, reference to the author’s name and the source of quotation is required.
