Political campaigns of the 1930s were an important tool for mobilizing and controlling people in the period of accelerated industrialization. New features of this era are revealed with the emergence of modern theoretical and methodological approaches allowing to study economic, social and cultural transformations in Soviet society as elements of a single state policy. Nowadays researchers turn their attention to the processes of creating a socialist industry, which included regular waves of workers' mobilization. The research proposes how Stakhanov movement, which was one of the largest campaigns of the 1930s, was realized in regional conditions. Soviet propaganda organs broadcasted calls for overfulfillment of labor indicators through the bunch of newspaper's articles. In connection with the cancellation of the card system, the movement had economic incentives, such as piece-rate work. The images of Stakhanovite workers were printed in Soviet newspapers, creating an ideological pattern of a perfect Soviet worker. We can conclude that Stakhanovite movement was politically organized campaign aimed to popularize the new industrial type of employees.
