Problems and Prospects for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Russian Federation

The activities of small and medium enterprises on the market indicate the level of development of the country and the welfare of the population. Russian entrepreneurs of such business have a number of difficulties need government support. This study presents the systematization of existing barriers and concerns the elaboration of recommendations for their regulation at the legislative level in the Nizhny Novgorod region. An expert questionnaire is used to collect data about small and medium business' significance of financial, material, consulting, informative, infrastructure and technical barriers in manufacturing. The findings appear of the evidence of existence of singularities of barriers in this sphere in the region and providing a list of recommendations for the resolution of these obstacles. The results can be used in the practice of generating novel ideas in the sphere as well.
