The work is devoted to the analysis of changes in the private life of Soviet citizens in the USSR. The focus of the study is on the evolution of the examination of particular issues that relate to family relationships. With the passage of time and the processes of modernization of life, the approaches of power, society and the individual to such intimate issues as sexuality, reproductive efficiency and deviations in marriage changed. The family affair lost public significance and became a private issue.
