Product Space and Structural Transformation of Export

Sustainable economic growth and an increase in the level of well-being in some economy exist due to the diversification and complexity of its export basket. The paper attempts to resolve the following issues. Are simpler economies diversifying their exports primarily through simple goods? If there are exceptions, how are they determined? Which countries make their exports more difficult? How is the complexity of the economy linked to the accumulation of human capital, income inequality and other macroeconomic factors?
