The Improvement of Logistics System: a Case of a Manufacturing Company

Subject of the degree project – «The Improvement of Logistics System: a Case of a Manufacturing Company». The object of the study is the logistics system of a small manufacturing company in the field of furniture production. The subject of the study factors that affect the service and customer satisfaction of the company, such factors include cross-functional communications, company management processes and organizational mechanisms. The volume of work is set out on 80 pages, includes 20 tables, 18 figures, 2 applications, 25 literature sources. Keywords: logistic system, cross-functional coordination, logistics service, production downtime, raw material shortage, loss from downtime and component shortage, MRP system, MRP II. Introduction contains a general description of the research: the relevance of the topic is substantiated, the goal and tasks are formulated, and the investigated object and subject, the practical significance of the work are characterized. The first chapter analyzes the structure of the logistics system of the focus company, identifies the current problems of the enterprise and suggests measures to improve the logistics system. In the second chapter, the effectiveness of the introduction of the corporate information system and the possibility of its implementation and formation are analyzed. Also considered are the MRP II standards, with the possibility of their further application in the company's activities. In the third chapter, directions are proposed for improving the logistics system with their economic justification. In conclusion, the main conclusions and results obtained during the implementation of the project are presented.
