Evaluation of the Activity of Non-Profit Organizations of Nizhny Novgorod Region

This investigation reflects the analysis of the activities of non-profit organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region on the following criteria: * dynamics of the non-profit sector, * dynamics of receiving state Federal and regional support by non-profit organizations, * readiness of non-profit organizations to carry out the functions of social policy, * effectiveness of non-profit organizations. The non-profit sector of the Nizhny Novgorod region has positive dynamics and forecasts: the number of non-profit organizations and citizens involved in this sector is increasing. There is a positive dynamics of state support for non-profit organizations, namely, the number of organizations, which is provided financial, information and consulting support from the regional budget, is increasing, the amount of funding for projects of organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region from presidential grants is increasing too. Currently, socially oriented non-profit organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region almost do not perform the functions of social policy, but the analysis shows their willingness to take on such functions. Evaluation of the activities of non-profit organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region on the basis of a survey of their leaders showed the effectiveness of these organizations from both social and economic efficiency. The quantitative assessment of efficiency calculated by the social profitability index demonstrated the effective project work of non-profit organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Based on the analysis, recommendations are given to improve the efficiency of non-profit sector of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the development of the non-profit sector in the region.
