Female Leaders in Business in Different Countries

We live in a country where women are underrepresented as leaders in all spheres – around 25% of firms in Russia have women in their top management. In government, around 9.7% of women hold ministerial positions. This study sheds light on the specific challenges that women experience on the road towards executive positions, concentrating on entrepreneurship and the model of a successful female leader as an entrepreneur. The paper offers a comprehensive review of practices implemented to help female entrepreneurship all over the world. In order to investigate women’s experiences in the current business landscape, interviews with businesswomen of various backgrounds were conducted. Based on the results of the study, several recommendations are offered.
