Typology of Partitive Constructions

Partitive constructions are constructions of a shape Q+of+NP such that Q is a quantifier that denotes subset, and NP is a non-empty superset, while ‘of’ stands for an element which brings partitive reading and combines Q and NP into partitive construction. In European languages, Q and NP are combined by the ablative pattern, such that the superset is marked as a source. In Austronesian languages, the locative pattern is employed. The paper aims to answer the question what partitive construction types occur across languages.
