The focus of this work is the contradiction between the goals of educational and historical policies, as a factor hindering the achievement of the goals of general education. Under the conditions of the existence of this contradiction, it becomes necessary to take it into account when managing the educational process. The purpose of this study is to: Define the tasks of managing the process of studying history in school in the conditions of the existence of a contradiction between the orientations of educational and historical politics Object of study: changes in the content of textbooks of national history 1937-2016. editions. Subject of research: the impact of historical and educational policies on the content of history textbooks and the purpose of studying history. Hypothesis: The content of post-Soviet history textbooks in Russia is changing, due to both historical and educational policies. Orientation towards evaluative autonomy and the development of critical thinking, being an element of educational policy, is in conflict with the state historical policy, which implies the adoption by pupils of correct evaluative judgments.
