Transformation of the Research Process in Technical Faculties at a Regional University

Abstract The work is devoted to the analysis of the research process in regional universities. The research process is one of the basic processes of the university, which ensures the creation of new knowledge at the university, ensures the development of the university and its teachers, and is used to teach students. The current state of the research process in universities raises many questions. With a lot of attention to the research process from the society and the government, in universities, research is in a very controversial position. What research gives the university, what is it for, and how to determine the effectiveness of research? These questions have no clear answer. In this paper, an analysis of the research process in modern regional universities with technical training directions is carried out, an analysis of scientific activity indicators for a group of regional universities is carried out, and an analysis of technical research directions developing in these universities is carried out. A model of the organization of the research process is proposed, which provides for the actualization of the scientific themes of the university in the technical areas of science. Transition from a functional approach to university management to process management methods. Developed recommendations for the transformation of the research process in the technical faculties of regional faculties.
