One of the main solutions of orphanhood problem in contemporary world is the development of the institution of substitute (host) family. This study aims to describe transformation of parental practices (methods, techniques, approaches, actions) to adapt foster children and problems and difficulties faced by adoptive parents. I am interested in the experience of substitute parents who have one or more adopted children (regardless of the form of the family structure and the age of the child). I suppose that the adoption of a child into the family goes through several stages from, perhaps, rejection to the full feeling that the child is blood. And all these stages are accompanied by a certain set of problems that are solved by a set of techniques and mechanisms that are used by parents, which changes the former life of parents and other family members.
